I'm Heidi, the proud owner of The Colorful K9! I've been immersed in the world of dogs for over nine years, specializing in grooming for the past seven. Originally on a college path, I discovered my true calling was in the art of making dogs both feel and look their absolute best. What brings me the greatest joy? Witnessing the transformation from fluffy to fabulous! Those before and after moments that capture the magic of grooming.

Professional Journey:

I've worked at three different salons and since then, I've obtained certifications in Creative Grooming, Dog CPR, and Pet Business Credentials. I'm a firm believer in continuous education, regularly attending seminars with my team to stay updated on the latest techniques, ensuring we provide the safest and most effective grooming experiences for your beloved pets.

Passion and Approach:

At The Colorful K9, I've crafted a luxury salon experience rooted in integrity. I believe in offering what's best for each pet under my care, guided by expertise and a commitment to quality. Using top-tier products ensures that every grooming session is a testament to the care and attention we provide.

One of the most beautiful sentiments I've heard is, "When a pet groomer passes away, they get to see the crowd of dogs they've helped throughout their life." That idea resonates deeply with me—it feels like the most blessed reward for doing what I love.

Personal Interests:

Beyond grooming, I'm a perpetual creator, dabbling in cooking, painting, and video editing. I thrive on variety, always seeking new experiences—whether it's trying a new recipe or exploring the adrenaline rush of skydiving. Travel is another passion, though I'm often captivated by the joy of my work, where every day presents a new opportunity to indulge in creativity.

Vision for The Colorful K9:

My dream for The Colorful K9 extends beyond exceptional grooming services. I aspire to foster a shared passion among my team for dogs and transparent communication with our clients. I love nothing more than hearing, "Wow, I had no idea!" Educating and surprising clients with insights into their pets, breeds, and our grooming processes.

Hi, I’m Braylee! For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work with animals. My passion began with wanting to rescue dogs and quickly grew into a desire to help them look and feel their absolute best. I love how grooming combines creativity, care, and transformation — seeing how a simple haircut can completely change a dog’s appearance and make them more comfortable is incredibly rewarding!

Knowledge & Education

I began grooming in 2025 and am currently training under the talented team at The Colorful K9. While I’m still early in my grooming career, I’m eager to continue learning and developing my skills every day. My coworkers, Heidi and Autumn, have been amazing mentors, showing me how each groomer has their own unique style — something that continues to inspire me as I grow.

I hope to expand my knowledge through future courses, certifications, and creative grooming education, especially in areas like breed-specific cuts and color work.

Personal Interests

I grew up in Brandon and graduated from Brandon Valley High School four months early. I’ve always been surrounded by animals and farm life, which is where my love for caring for them began.

At home, I have three dogs — an Australian Shepherd, a French Bulldog, and a Chihuahua — who keep me busy and happy! When I’m not grooming, I love being active and spending time outdoors, especially kayaking, paddle boarding, and hiking in the summer. In the winter, I enjoy snowboarding and cozy Hallmark movie marathons.

Personal Vision

Thanks to the amazing opportunities at The Colorful K9, I’m excited to continue growing as a groomer and developing my own unique style. I have a deep interest in creative grooming and can’t wait to learn more about color work and advanced styling techniques.

One day, I’d love to travel and experience grooming styles from around the world — seeing the artistry and creativity behind each culture’s approach in person. My dream is to blend those influences into my own work and maybe even create content to inspire other groomers who share a passion for the art of grooming.

Autumn Harrison

Hi, my name is Autumn and I have been professionally grooming since June of 2021. I have always had a passion for animals and even worked at an exotic animal store for many years, giving me a wide range of hands on experience with many different creatures! After getting my standard Poodle puppy a few years back, I began learning how to groom him myself, and discovered a passion for grooming that has snowballed into a career that I love! Last year I moved to Sioux Falls from my life long home in Las Vegas, NV. It’s been a big, but wonderful, change, and I look forward to learning and growing more and more every year!

Knowledge & Education

I am a certified canine stylist through The Paragon School of Pet Grooming, but my education hasn’t stopped there. I’ve been taught hands-on by many mentors over the years, and have taken many courses and seminars from renowned professional groomers at trade shows and conventions. I am also canine CPR certified!

Personal interests

Outside of work I love playing with my standard poodle, Cowboy, and my snake, Rosy. I also entertain myself with art, trading card games, video games, and a borderline unhealthy addiction to books. If I’m not at home, you might catch me walking the parks with cowboy, browsing a used bookstore, or trying a new restaurant with friends!

Personal vision 

Thanks to the opportunities that working at the Colorful K9 present to me, I hope to continue enhancing my grooming skills with a focus on stylized cuts that take inspiration from the “Asian Fusion” style. I also have experience with creative grooming, and hope for a chance to do more color work in the future. I’m excited to craft each and every unique haircut to make you AND your furry friend happy!
